George Harrison-"My dad had been a seamen, but by then he was driving a bus. My mother was from an Irish family called French, and she had lots of brothers and sisters. My mother was Catholic. My father wasn't and, although they always say people who weren't Catholics were Church of England, he didn't appear to be anything. " (Roylance,2000).
George Harrison (born February 2, 1943-November 11, 2001) also known as the "quiet Beatle" , was the singer and lead guitarist of The Beatles. George was the youngest among the four, but wasn't always known as a talented song-writer compared to "Lennon-McCartney" until late during Beatles. He composed some of his finest works such as "Something", "Here Comes The Sun" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" all critically acclaimed as one of the greatest songs in the history of popular music. Among the four, George had the most connections with artists outside of The Beatles from early stages of his career. He is also the biggest contributor for bringing in non-western musical elements to The Beatles.
After the disbandment of The Beatles in 1970, George began his solo career producing songs such as "Give Me Love", "My Sweet Lord" and "Got My Mind Set On You" all regarded as one of the greatest masterpieces in the popular music history.
George passed away in 2001 at the age of 58.
